I may not know what brought you here. Perhaps, you’re a student managing your way on translation and interpretation studies or a professional who just got here by chance. Maybe, you’re that friend I’ve been bragging about my newly launched blog or a colleague that I met in an interpretation event and couldn’t help but share what I write (by the way, thank you for your support!). Anyway, I might not know what brought you here, but let me tell you why you should stay around.
I created this blog for pure selfish reasons, don’t get me wrong. It is not a surprise to most of my friends that I love writing, even though I’ve never published anything. Well, if I never ever publish a book, at least let it be on my grave beloved daughter, sister, and blog writer! Besides, I can always go to dinners, cocktails, and events and, with a very fake humble attitude, say that I write a blog.
This blog is a journal. It is my journal as a professional interpreter and translator. Here, I will share my thoughts and opinions about the interpretation and translation field, my growth and professional path, my routine and everything around my life as an interpreter. As I kickstart this blog, I am also taking my masters. Therefore, I will also share my writings and exercises on topics that I receive from my professors.
Welcome to The Interpreter’s Journal. I am the Interpreter, Vania Almeida, and I truly hope that my writings may help you somehow, rather you’re a student or a professional colleague.
Cordialmente,
Vania Almeida
